Ambarrukmo means ‘tempat yang wangi’ or ‘place of fragrance’ – in other words a place of good fortune and life. This design is inspired by the royal colours of the Javanese courts and the ‘parang’ motif (sword pattern) of Javanese batik design. It is the most powerful of all designs and is considered sacred and to be only worn by the king.
